Summary

Audits allow us to look at procedures and processes we already do and compare them with a benchmark. The CQC and GDC expect providers of primary care dental services to conduct clinical and other relevant audits. Audits should be measurable and as simple as possible. Find an area of your service that you want to improve, check what the national standard is, and gather data to enable you to compare yourself with this. Areas in which you could carry out audits include infection control and accessibility.
