How to avoid problems in recruitment

Shilla Talati looks at the law affecting pre-employment checks and how to avoid common problems in recruitment.

It is a requirement to do pre-employment checks under the General Dental Council standards, as well as by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). CQC will check that the required pre-employment checks have been made when they inspect a dental practice. All staff should have: proof of identity a full employment history evidence of qualifications relevant to the duties that person is expected to perform information about any physical or mental health conditions relevant to a person’s capability.
