Recruiting staff – tips and guidelines

Think about exactly who you need as this will inform the job description and skillset. Avoid discrimination based on age, sex, race or other protected characteristics during the recruitment process. Have a set list of questions that you ask each candidate, so that all are treated equally to avoid discrimination, and keep answers and notes for each candidate. Ask candidates to perform a certain task, such as typing out an email to an imaginary patient or taking part in a role play with a patient.
